Internships
We offer placements in MLA offices for students enrolled at ACT universities completing an internship-for-credit course. How long the internship is and how often and what days you're in the office are negotiated between you, your university, and the hosting MLA. For guidance, most placements are for one day a week over 12-week semester.
Eligibility
To be eligible for placement at the Legislative Assembly, our vocational placement policy (PDF 288KB) requires you be an Australian citizen and enrolled in an internship-for-credit course at one of these six tertiary institutions:
- The Australian National University
- University of Canberra
- Canberra Institute of Technology
- Australian Catholic University (Canberra campus only)
- University of New South Wales (Canberra City and ADF campuses only), or
- Charles Sturt University (Canberra campus only)
How to apply
To inquire about doing an internship, send an email to LAeducation@parliament.act.gov.au or contact a relevant program coordinator at your institution.
