The ACT Legislative Assembly is active on several social media platforms. Our social media accounts are managed by the Office of the Legislative Assembly, a politically neutral organisation that is independent from the government of the day.

We use social media to inform you about what the Assembly and its committees are doing, why they are doing it and when they are doing it. We also provide information about how you can participate in the work of the Assembly.

What to expect from us

We will post about everything from what’s happening during a sitting day, to information about committee inquiries and public hearings. We’ll also share information about our education programs, public tours, and interesting news related to the Assembly.

We do not participate in political or policy debates but instead shed light on parliamentary processes, roles, and functions.

You can contact us via each platform’s own messaging system or by emailing LAwebmaster@parliament.act.gov.au .

What we expect from you

We allow commenting on posts. Before you post a comment, please remember that there are real people reading what you share. Comments must:

* Respectful means not making comments that are unlawful, harassing, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, or sexual in nature (including comments that discriminate or disparage based on race, religion, gender, nationality, ethnicity, political view, or other protected attributes).

The Office reserves the right to remove or hide comments or to block users where these guidelines are not followed.

These guidelines are additional to each social media platform’s own community standards.
