A bill is a proposal for a new law, or change to an existing one, that is presented to the Assembly for consideration. The proposal goes through several stages, giving members and the public an opportunity to have their say. If a bill is approved or passed by the Assembly, it becomes law.
All bills presented to the Assembly and resulting legislation is notified on the ACT Legislation Register.
