Resolution of establishment for committees
A committee’s terms of reference come from its resolution of establishment, which is passed by the Assembly. This resolution sets out a committee’s responsibilities, any additional powers a committee may have and any specific directions the Assembly may decide to give a committee. The Assembly can amend the resolution of establishment to alter or expand the responsibilities, membership and work of a committee.
The Assembly resolved to establish the following general-purpose standing committees on 3 December 2024:
- Environment and Planning
- Economics, Industry and Recreation
- Integrity Commission and Statutory Office Holders
- Legal Affairs
