Members’ portraits

The official portraits of Members of the Legislative Assembly used on our website are not provided under the Creative Commons licence. You cannot use them for political or commercial purposes.

To request permission to use these photos, email us at lawebmaster@parliament.act.gov.au.

Third party content

Some content is on our website may be owned by a third party. It is your responsibility to make sure you have permission from the owner of that content before you re-use it.

As a rule, if something you want to share was not created by the Legislative Assembly, we can’t license you to re-use it.


Content we publish on social media

You can share or retweet any content we publish on FacebookTwitter, or Instagram.

We ask you don’t republish our social media content. This means downloading or saving an image or video we publish and posting it again. We encourage you to share or retweet content instead – you can add your own comments when you do.

Official emblems and symbols

The bluebell roundel is the Assembly’s logo and official emblem. It is not provided under the Creative Commons license. You must have written permission from the Speaker to use it.

There are separate rules and laws about using the ACT flag and coat of arms of the City of Canberra. You are responsible for following these or seeking permission if you wish to use them.
