Public hearing to review the pandemic’s effect on music and universities

The Select Committee on the COVID-19 2021 pandemic response will hold its sixth public hearing into the ACT government’s response to the pandemic from 2.40 to 3.30 pm on Thursday, 18 November 2021. At the hearing, the Committee will hear from representatives of MusicACT, Australian National University (ANU) and University of Canberra (UC).

The Committee is holding regular public hearings with ACT Government officials and community groups, which are live streamed to the public. The hearings can be viewed in real-time or as a recording from the Video on Demand website.

Committee Chair, Ms Elizabeth Lee MLA, said “The Committee welcomes the opportunity to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the music and arts industries in the ACT, as well as the higher education sector, during the recent lockdowns.”

The Legislative Assembly established the Select Committee on 16 September 2021 to provide oversight to the ACT Government’s response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. The resolution establishing the Committee is available on the Committee’s website.
