Referral of Auditor-General’s reports to the Public Accounts Committee
In accordance with the Committee’s terms of resolution of establishment all reports of the Auditor-General presented to the Legislative Assembly for the ACT are referred to the Public Accounts Committee for examination.

Government submissions to the Public Accounts Committee in response to Auditor-General’s Reports Following tabling of an Auditor-General’s Report, a Government submission is required to be provided to the Public Accounts Committee three months from the date the report is presented in the Legislative Assembly for the ACT (if the Legislative Assembly is not sitting when the report is provided to the Speaker, it is taken for all purposes to have been presented to the Assembly on the day the Auditor-General gives it to the Speaker) (p.3. Guidelines for Responding to Reports by the Auditor-General, November 2009). For further information on responding to reports of the Auditor-General please refer to the Chief Minister’s Department’s Guidelines for Responding to Reports by the Auditor-General, November 2009. The requirement to provide a Government submission does not apply to the Annual Report of the Auditor-General's Office.
