Report tabled – Inquiry into Annual and Financial Reports 2021-22

The Chair of the Standing Committee on Planning, Transport and City Services, Ms Jo Clay MLA, today tabled the Committee’s report on its Inquiry into Annual and Financial Reports 2021–22.

The Committee held a number of public hearings with the Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate and Transport Canberra and City Services Directorate. The wide range of topics discussed included social and affordable housing provisions, emissions reduction plans, end-of-life reuse and recycling of batteries for electric buses, and waste and recycling audits.

The report made 19 recommendations covering a number of issues, including consultation with residents on future waste sites, reporting against the ACT Climate Change Strategy, expansion of the electric bus fleet, and publication of the estimated completion date for Light Rail Stage 2B.

Under the Assembly’s standing orders, the ACT Government is required to respond to committee reports within four months of tabling.
