Inquiry into Human Rights (Healthy Environment) Amendment Bill 2023

The Standing Committee on Justice and Community Safety has announced it will be undertaking an inquiry into the Human Rights (Healthy Environment) Amendment Bill 2023.

The Committee are examining the Human Rights (Healthy Environment) Amendment Bill 2023. The Bill proposes to amend the Human Rights Act 2004 to include the right to a healthy environment. The bill, alongside it’s explanatory statement and human rights compatibility statement, is available to read on the ACT Legislation Register.

The Committee would like to hear from a range of stakeholders and welcomes submissions to this inquiry by Wednesday 29 November 2023.
