Committee report tabled into health agencies’ annual reports for 2020-2021
Mr Johnathan Davis, Chair of the Assembly’s Health Committee, today tabled the report for the Committee’s inquiry into health agencies’ most recent annual reports. The Committee held its hearings for the inquiry in February and March this year.
The Committee made 10 recommendations, including that the ACT Government:
- invest in the hiring of more staff across the alcohol and other drug treatment sector, including peer support workers;
- continue to provide regular and timely updates on elective surgery targets;
- continue to promote COVID 19 vaccination uptake; and
- increase efforts across Canberra Health Services to address workplace culture, especially regarding bullying and harassment.
The Committee Chair, Mr Johnathan Davis, said “The pandemic has presented the Territory’s health agencies with significant challenges. The Committee has made recommendations to build on the Territory’s response to the pandemic and to strengthen the health system generally.”

Under the Assembly’s standing orders, the ACT Government is required to table its response to the report within four months.
