Inquiry into renewable energy innovation in the ACT

The Chair of the Standing Committee on Environment, Climate Change and Biodiversity, Dr Marisa Paterson, today tabled the Committee’s report into its Inquiry into renewable energy innovation in the ACT.

The Committee received a broad range of submissions and held three public hearings, hearing from a range of groups including the ACT Government, business and industry, educational institutions, academic experts and the community.

The Committee’s report made thirty-seven recommendations covering a broad range of issues, including government regulation and targets, renewable energy research and development, industry transition and training, technical expertise and renewable energy infrastructure.

The Chair Dr Marisa Paterson said, ‘We thank all those who contributed to the Committee’s inquiry.’

Under the Assembly’s standing orders, the Government is required to respond to committee reports within four months of tabling.
