A person or organisation wanting to record or broadcast Assembly proceedings for either the chamber or committees must seek approval of the Speaker each calendar year.

Details are set out in the Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory Broadcasting Policy Framework and Guidelines (the Broadcasting Guidelines) (see attachment B).

Permission granted by the Speaker under the Broadcasting Guidelines remains in force until 31 December each year, after which time a new application must be lodged.

These persons or organisations have approval of the Speaker to broadcast for the 2024 calendar year:

This list of approved broadcasters is updated when there are changes. To apply for approval to broadcast or record the proceedings of the Assembly and its committees, a form is available on the ACT Legislation Register or at Attachment C of the Broadcasting Guidelines.

For more information on the operation of the Assembly’s broadcasting framework, including relevant legislation and the Assembly’s continuing resolution, go to the Broadcasting Act and continuing resolution 3.
