About the Work
Nhan employs traditional vessels as a foundation, transforming historical forms into contemporary vehicles that play with the medium’s enduring epic narrative (from both Eastern and Western perspectives) imbued with personal stories and social commentary. To accomplish this, Nhan has taken the raw material of clay in a new direction, eschewing precision for the mark of the maker’s hand.n.

Nathan Nhan graduated BA (Hons) from the ANU School of Art & Design in 2022 and was the recipient of the Speaker’s EASS Award.
