About the Work
General Assembly was conceived as an interactive event by Studio Haçienda. All the component parts were pre-fabricated, and selected by the clients to construct a unique brooch which was then immediately ‘assembled’. Tilden’s and Porter’s design interpreted Canberra’s ubiquitous roundabouts, the structure of the carillon that stands sentinel over the lake, and the geometry of the ‘parliamentary triangle’.
