About the Work
This work was inspired by a visit to Northlands in Scotland in 2010, where Douglas was struck both by the way the light fell on the hills and similarities with the Canberra landscape. She says that Eventide II ‘aims to suggest stillness and silence, a meditation on the way light shapes our environment...the quiet shadows that appear with the last light of day.’
