About the Work
These two prototypes were made for the ‘Centenary of Canberra: a legacy of good design’ competition, organised by CraftACT in association with the ACT Government for the Centenary of Canberra. Their successful design for the competition celebrates the beauty of Canberra and the Griffin’s achievement. The form of the dish suggests Canberra’s location within a natural amphitheatre created by the surrounding hills. Griffin’s plan is etched into a stainless steel platter and was backed with either the blue or yellow of the ACT crest.
