About the Work
This work reflects Anita McIntyre's engagement with the local region, and merges historic material culture such as old maps and records, with contemporary ceramics practice. The beauty of the Brindabella Ranges has informed her practice for over thirty years. The landscape ‘constitutes narratives of journey, place and time that is the essence of my art,’ she says. Initially trained in painting, McIntyre taught at the ANU School of Art Ceramics Workshop from 1977 until her retirement in 2007.
