Estimates Committee publishes Budget report

The Estimates Committee today published its report into the ACT Government’s Budget and the Appropriation Bills.

The Committee held 11 days of hearings with Ministers, officials, statutory office holders and community groups. The inquiry involved 12 submissions, 240 Questions on Notice and 233 Questions Taken on Notice.

The report makes 74 recommendations across government.

Committee Chair, Ms Nicole Lawder, said “The Committee appreciates the contribution of witnesses throughout the hearings and in answering questions. I also acknowledge the assistance during the inquiry from my Committee colleagues and visiting Members.”

The practice is that the Government tables its response to the Estimates report prior to the Assembly passing the Budget Bills.
