Public hearing with Ministers for Education and Mental Health on the COVID-19 pandemic response
The Select Committee on the COVID-19 2021 pandemic response will hold its fifth public hearing into the ACT government’s response to the pandemic from 3.15 to 5.15 pm on Thursday. The witnesses include Ms Yvette Berry MLA, Minister for Education, and Ms Emma Davidson MLA, Minister for Mental Health.
The Committee is holding regular public hearings with ACT Government officials and community groups which will be held virtually and live streamed to the public. The hearings can be viewed at the Video on Demand website.
Committee Chair, Ms Elizabeth Lee MLA, said “The lockdown has affected people’s mental health, particularly parents, as a result of remote learning. The Committee welcomes the opportunity to talk to the Government on how it is managing these issues as we come out of lockdown.”
The Legislative Assembly established the Select Committee on 16 September 2021 to provide oversight to the ACT Government’s response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. The resolution establishing the Committee is available on the Committee’s website.
