Public hearing with Chief Minister on the COVID-19 pandemic response

The Select Committee on the COVID-19 pandemic response will hold its second public hearing into the ACT government’s response to the pandemic from 4.30 to 5.30 pm today. The witnesses are Mr Andrew Barr MLA and officials from the Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate.

The Committee is holding regular public hearings with ACT Government officials and community groups which will be held virtually and live streamed to the public. The hearings can be viewed at the Video on Demand website.

Committee Chair, Ms Elizabeth Lee MLA, said “The Chief Minister has a significant responsibility in representing the interests of the ACT at National Cabinet.”

“The attendance of the Chief Minister and his officials at this hearing will be a crucial opportunity for the public to be informed of how decisions are made by the ACT government in response to the pandemic.”

The Legislative Assembly established the Select Committee on 16 September 2021 to provide oversight to the ACT Government’s response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. The resolution establishing the Committee is available on the Committee’s website.
