Report tabled for the Inquiry into the Family, Personal and Sexual Violence Legislation Amendment Bill 2025
Today the Chair of the Standing Committee on Legal Affairs, Ms Chiaka Barry MLA, tabled the Committee’s report for its inquiry into the Family, Personal and Sexual Violence Legislation Amendment Bill 2025.
The report makes 11 recommendations, including that the bill be passed by the Assembly, subject to amendment. Other recommendations include amendments to the proposed family violence safety notice scheme and considerations for future reform.
The Committee thanks all stakeholders, submitters and witnesses for their contributions to the inquiry.
Under the Assembly’s standing orders, the Government is required to respond to committee reports within four months of tabling.
