New inquiry into the Road Transport (Alcohol and Drugs) Amendment Bill 2026
The Standing Committee on Transport and City Services has announced it will be undertaking an inquiry into the Road Transport (Alcohol and Drugs) Amendment Bill 2026.
“This private member’s bill aims to reform the way that patients using medical cannabis are treated,” said Mr Peter Cain, Committee Chair. “The intention of these amendments is to bring the treatment of medical cannabis patients in line with the treatment of all other patients in the ACT who are prescribed potentially impairing medications.”
Mr Cain continued, “The Committee encourages anyone with an interest in these reforms to make a submission to the inquiry.”
