Phil Green to continue as ACT Electoral Commissioner

26 March 2015

After a merit-based recruitment process the Electoral Commissioner, Phil Green, has been re-appointed for a term of five years.

Vicki Dunne MLA, Speaker of the ACT Legislative Assembly, made the appointment on behalf of the Assembly.

“The Electoral Commissioner is independent of government as an officer of the Assembly under the Electoral Act 1992 after amendments that were made to the Act last year,” Mrs Dunne said. “This is the first time the Speaker has overseen the recruitment and appointment process.”
