Public hearing with Ministers for Police and Business on the COVID-19 pandemic response

The Select Committee on the COVID-19 2021 pandemic response will hold its final public hearing into the ACT government’s response to the pandemic from 3.45 to 4.45 pm on Monday, 22 November 2021. The witnesses include Mr Mick Gentleman MLA, Minister for Police and Emergency Services, and Ms Tara Cheyne MLA, Minister for Business and Better Regulation.

The Committee is holding regular public hearings with ACT Government officials and community groups which are live streamed to the public. The hearings can be viewed at the Video on Demand website.

Committee Chair, Ms Elizabeth Lee MLA, said “The Committee welcomes the opportunity to discuss enforcement and non-compliance with public health orders, and ongoing restrictions for businesses, with the relevant Ministers.”

The Legislative Assembly established the Select Committee on 16 September 2021 to provide oversight to the ACT Government’s response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. The resolution establishing the Committee is available on the Committee’s website.
