Invitation for public submissions for the Inquiry into impact of revised speed limits in Civic - Petitions 31-21 and 38-21
The Committee welcomes submissions from the public on the Inquiry into impact of revised speed limits in Civic – Petitions 31-21 and 38-21.
Petition 31-21 was referred to the committee on 16 September 2021. The petition requested that the Assembly call on the ACT Government to waive the fines and penalties incurred in the month July 2021 in the new 40kph speed limited zones in Civic and take action to make it absolutely clear as to where these speed limits apply.
The Chair of the Planning, Transport and City Services Committee, Ms Jo Clay MLA, said “The inquiry will look at the implementation of the revised speed limits in parts of Civic that became effective on 5 July 21. The committee looks forward to hearing from Canberrans about the impact of these new speed limits in Civic”.
The Committee is accepting submissions until Monday 18 October 2021.
The Committee prefers all submissions to be lodged in electronic form (Word format), although handwritten submissions are acceptable. All submissions, including those sent electronically, must include a name, an email address, a postal address and a telephone contact number. Personal contact details will not be published.
