INQUIRY INTO YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH IN THE ACT

The Standing Committee on Education, Employment and Youth Affairs will hold the fourth public hearing for its Inquiry into Youth Mental Health in the ACT on Tuesday 14 July 2020 from 9.30am – 10.00am.

The Committee will hear from Families and Friends for Drug Law Reform.

Addiction challenges are included throughout the Inquiry’s Terms of Reference. Committee Chair, Michael Pettersson MLA, said “we know of the high prevalence of mental illness co-occurring with substance abuse disorders. This hearing is an opportunity to understand some of the current barriers and potential solutions to helping youth experiencing mental health and addiction challenges.”

The public hearing will be held virtually via Webex and live streamed to the public. The hearing can be viewed from the Assembly on Demand website.
