INQUIRY INTO YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH IN THE ACT
The Standing Committee on Education, Employment and Youth Affairs will hold the third public hearing for its Inquiry into Youth Mental Health in the ACT on Tuesday 30 June 2020 from 9.30am – 11.30am.
Scheduled witnesses include:
- Individuals with lived experience of youth mental illness
- Black Dog Institute
- Communities@Work Galilee School
- Carers ACT
The public hearing will be held virtually via Webex and live streamed to the public. The hearing can be viewed from the Assembly on Demand website.
Having reopened the submission process following powerful evidence received at the first public hearing, the Committee has now received more than 30 submissions from a wide range of individuals and organisations.
Committee Chair, Mr Michael Pettersson MLA, said “the Committee is humbled by the willingness of young people in Canberra to share their personal experiences with the mental health system. Together we hope to make the system better.”
