Committee holding first hearing on fuel pricing in the ACT following receipt of more than 200 submissions
The committee investigating fuel prices in the ACT is holding its first hearing tomorrow, Thursday 14 March 2019.

In its submission to the inquiry, Informed Sources notes it is Australia’s leading price monitoring service and makes fuel pricing data and other service available to fuel retailers, government and state government and motoring bodies.
The committee will use the hearing opportunity to discuss with Informed Sources issues such as: how fuel prices are set in the ACT; the impact of costs on Canberra drivers; and possible legislative or regulatory measures.
The committee will also canvass the reasons for pricing discrepancies within the ACT and compared to other cities, while assessing the effectiveness of initiatives to reduce fuel prices in other jurisdictions.
Following the closing of submissions on 11 March 2019, the committee had received views from more than 200 organisations and members of the community.
