On 13 December 2016, the Legislative Assembly appointed the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (PAC).
The PAC is to consider the following matters:
(A) the accounts of the receipts and expenditure of the Australian Capital Territory and its authorities; and
(B) all reports of the Auditor-General which have been presented to the Assembly;
ii) report to the Assembly any items or matters in those accounts, statements and reports, or any circumstances connected with them, to which the Committee is of the opinion that the attention of the Assembly should be directed;
iii) inquire into any question in connection with the public accounts which is referred to it by the Assembly and to report to the Assembly on that question.
On 8 June 2017, the Committee resolved to inquire into the matters in the Auditor-General’s Report 3 of 2017, and seeks views from all interested persons, organisations and groups and others on the matters raised by its inquiry.
Auditor-General's Report No. 3 of 2017: 2015-16 Financial Audits - Computer Information Systems(the Audit report) was presented to the Legislative Assembly on 9 May 2017.
In accordance with the resolution of appointment of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (the Committee), the Audit report was referred to the Committee for examination.
The Committee’s terms of reference are to examine the Audit report and report to the Legislative Assembly.
