The Legislative Assembly’s Standing Committee on Economic Development and Tourism has resolved to extend the deadline for submissions to its inquiry into building quality in the ACT.
Jeremy Hanson MLA, Chair of the Committee, said that, “the Committee has been receiving a steady flow of submissions since it resolved to inquire into and report on the quality of new buildings in the ACT and any potential or actual causes of poor building quality in the ACT. As people have learnt about the inquiry they have made their submissions, informing the Committee about their experiences and where they believe changes are needed.”
In order to allow as many as people and organisations as possible to be heard the Committee will now receive written submissions until 30 November 2018. The Committee intends to hold public hearings in the first quarter of 2019.
