ACT Legislative Assembly

Come Alive Festival, 2017

The Legislative Assembly is pleased to be participating in this year’s Come Alive Festival.

The festival invites Canberra school students to create theatrical performances that bring to life the collections of our national institutions. Students are introduced to people, events and objects or cultural significance. They choose works that inspire them, and return to school to devise an original piece of theatre or dance to present at the festival.

During the coming months the Assembly will be welcoming students from years 8–12 from participating schools throughout Canberra, and introducing them to our chosen objects:

The mace

The Bar of the House

The Assembly will be participating in the Come Alive Festival, in conjunction with the Canberra Theatre Centre, Elections ACT and Canberra Museum and Gallery. This will be the eighth Come Alive Festival since it began in 2010.
