Please note that while work experience is offered not all requests may be met. The meeting of requests is very much dependent on the workload of MLAs or the commitments of the Assembly.
If you or your students may be interested in work experience here at the Assembly, please feel free to contact the education office to discuss the possibility of a future placement.
As part of the education program at the Assembly offers a work experience program for students from years 10 - 12. Students usually undertake a work experience program for one or two working weeks in an MLAs office.
The arrangements for CIT students vary but usually involve placement one day a week for five weeks.
The Legislative Assembly has an agreement with the Australian National University to support the placement of postgraduate students to undertake an agreed research topic that results in the production of an 8000 word report on behalf of a member. The intern is placed for two and a half days per week for a ten week period.
